On Your Own Suggestions
- Travel the Queens Garden Trail for incredible views of many hoodoos. If you look carefully, you may see lots of figures with your imagination, but the highlight is a rock figure that resembles Queen Victoria. From here, continue back up the canyon through a narrow gorge knows as Wall Street, one of the most spectacular slot canyons in the American Southwest. Consider doing this in the late afternoon—the trail ends at Sunset Point, a nice way to wrap up an incredible hike.
- Do some star gazing. There are few better places on Earth for astronomy. The night sky at Bryce is so dark you can see 7,500 stars on a moonless night. Here, Venus will cause you to cast a shadow. Cherish this last grand sanctuary of natural darkness by attending an indoor multimedia show followed by sky viewing with telescopes (weather permitting). Stop at the Visitor Center and ask for details.
